How to edit your normal.dds file(simple)

This is very simple to do.

But people think of it as difficult.

Some people say you have to go to brightness/contrast and change some stuff.

It's very simple.

 

Tutorial:

1.Open your image that you want to make into normal.dds in Photoshop

2.Click Control + i

3.That's it and save your dds settings as this:

Note:This settings are for color.dds, for normal.dds you have to change the first option from DXT 1 to DXT 5

So your title says normal but your picture is for color.

Your title also says how to edit normal but this is only the save setting.

And yes you have to use contrast in the alpha when you make your normal.

Maybe your title should be dds save setting.

Yeah lol the normal.dds must be saved as DXT5 8bit interpolate alpha.

It seems you have a habit of explaining things to people that they already know. We've been editing Normals now for a number of years, and if you go to the various game sections from the past few years, you'll see there are tons and tons of help threads regarding this subject. 

 

Perhaps if you did a little more reading, you'd realise that you don't have to make a thread every time a light bulb comes on in your head. chances are, you're light bulb is a little late to the party!
