Define what the soul/spirit is to you, in your own words

Let's get philosophical for a moment. When people talk of their soul, or their spirit, what does that mean to you? Define what you think it actually is. What makes it up, what affects it. Try and give a nice answer. Lets make this a nice little topic which is open to debate and sharing of ideas.

It's made up of emotions and feelings, I dont actually think there is a actual "spirit" that leaves us when we depart, but who knows, too deep for my yogurt brain.

Souls are open to interpretation and based on how you have grown up. If you have traditional values that you were taught by your parents, it's all based on their teachings. It gives us comfort that there is an afterlife and that we are in a sense immortal.

I have talked with people who have had near death incidents and felt an out of body experience, but that could have to do with their religious backgrounds also.

Call me high, but there's a part of me that doesn't defer the fact that I've been here before in another time, and in another body. But, it's nothing serious. It's just something I've pondered on from time to time.
