Asians is worse than saying Japanese, as it implies they are all the same, whereas Japanese is just an honest mistake.

This is the dumbest shit you have EVER posted. Do you know why people call them asian? Because they are asian. They live in asia, damnit. If I would say to somebody "Hey, look at this muscular guy over there" or "Hey, see that black guy over there?" Would that imply that ALL muscular or black people are the same? No it would fucking not. If somebody would call me European, would I be offended? NO, because I fucking AM european.

Nope. The reason some Asian people dislike it is because not all Asian races look the same - generally a lot more variance than any other continent. For example middle eastern and far eastern are completely different (not even going into the difference between the far eastern). Had you followed the conversation, you'd have realised this was in relation to Korean and Japanese appearances being mixed up, and so it actually makes perfect contextual sense. He was talking about their appearance - not their point of origin. So before you try to come in looking all smart, try and rub a small bit of sense into your noggin and understand context.

He called them Japanese, you said they're Korean, he said he should've said "Asian" instead and you said that that would've been offensive. That does not change anything about the fact that all Asian people can be called asian. By the way, have you realized that in Europe, everybody doesn't look the same, aswell? Does that mean that, when you see a guy who looks like a german (blond hair, blue eyes, big guy, you know the schtick) you shouldn't call him European, just because Spanish people don't look like that? Oh and I'm guessing that you shouldn't call a black guy afro-american because Africans can be white, too? See, I did misunderstand your post and I admitt, it makes you seem less like an asshole from this point of view. But that doesn't mean that you're right.

No, because it's a different culture. A lot of people from the far east, especially Korea actually get offended by being referred to as 'Asian' when based on appearance. It's a very self-absorbed culture, so my point was that calling Koreans 'Japanese' or just 'Asian' is a taboo. I probably coulda thrown in the words "to them" on the end to make it a little more clear. Also, the European thing sort of wouldn't work, as generally speaking white people are referred to as 'Caucasian'. Asian is an ethnicity AND a region, where as caucasian is just the ethnicity. So in that respect, the European thing isn't the same because it's not particularly a thing to say 'you look European' (although I know from my own experiences that a lot of Americans don't know the difference between most European countries, so they might throw that out).

In your original post you were saying it like it would be a bad thing to say per se, not that just Koreans etc. don't like to hear it. Like you almost made it sound like calling a Korean person Asian is like calling a black person "nigga" (as a white person, because seemingly it's ok when you're black yourself). However, I now see your point, but I'll still continue calling korean people Asian. Heck, the main reason I'm having this conversation with you is that one of my close personal friends is Korean, and she calls herself Asian, too. But thanks for enlighting me about the stupidity of some korean people. I'm sorry for offending you earlier.

I probably could have worded it better. And it's more something that people in Korea are bothered about from my understanding. It's sort of common in the west to just call them all Asian or whatever so it's probably just something they'd accept, but a lot of them get antsy about it over there, especially some of the ones I talk to. They have a very messed up society when it comes to appearances. And it's cool, I was rude too, so sorry about that. Long day.

There are too many hot women in the world... And tomorrow I'm gonna post everyone that I would "do", as many as I can before I get bored or my dick hurts too much from a huge erection.

Better have that protection ready bro, even though pornstars claim to be tested "all the time".
