You know what happens in a forum? Conversations. You know what stops conversations? Topics being closed/censorship.

It'd be great if we moved past the era of shitty forum moderation and let conversations actually continue and meet their own crescendo. Also, it's fucking awesome watching it everything unfold, you know like real life conversations.

We could totally be ...

You do have to understand though that when things get unnecessarily out of hand, someone does have to step in. I do think we tend to jump the gun sometimes with topics though, and close them even though whatever problem led to it being closed, could have easily been resolved.

I agree people should step in, I mean that's how things get defused in a lot of arguments. What doesn't is getting censored. No one likes getting censored. Jump in, tell people to calm down. Let them work it out, etc. Closing topics/deleting posts isn't going to help anything.

I also agree with what Fozy said, I don't understand why in the bloody hell are we following the PG rules, I don't see any little jimmies under 12.

I've had this opinion for a long time but some members, who I won't name, favoured closures. Topics should really only be closed when they are inappropriate, duplicates, or causing rifts

I agree with Fozy. Yes, people are going to argue in topics, it's part of life, it's part of nature. It's annoying when topics like the Benoit topic get closed "before anything happens", wait for something to bloody happen then put your foot down and do your job then. I can even specifically remember topics being closed even when no signs of arguments were shown. Because of these things happening, it's almost impossible for any legit discussion to take place.

If an issue has been brought up in a thread, I say leave it open. It gives all the parties involved a chance to make their peace as well as outsiders to offer their 2 cents. You never know what someone is saying or lying about through Pms.

There should just be one topic/thread for bickering/fighting, a topic/thread where if a dispute occurs in other topics/threads then it gets moved to the fighting thread & let everything play out in that one thread specific to/for fighting & keep it open so people go vent there, that way the whole forum isn't bombed by fights thus causing multiple topics/threads to be closed.

Edit: This is sarcasm guys.....

Edit 2: Added "awesome idea", made it red to let you know it is an edit. That way, it will assure to you all, that it is indeed sarcasm, YOU'RE WELCOME!
