The suprise entrants are always one of the best parts of the Rumble for me, so i'm hoping WWE pull out a few suprises with the entrants this year.
With Road Dogg and X-Pac working behind the scenes and scouting talent i'm expecting to see one of those enter.
Who else do you think could make an appearance?
Goldberg, Billy Gunn, Lashley, Batista, ...Lesnar?
Who do you think will be the suprise entrants in the Royal Rumble?

Honestly speaking, all those alumnis are very bad guesses with the exception of Road Dogg and I don't even think he'll ever be involved in a wrestling-related capacity at a big time event in the WWE.
As far as my guesses are concerned: I don't expect anyone to be a surprise entrant because obviously Jericho returned and if he were to be in the Rumble, he's winning the damn thing.
Of course that all depends on the proceedings of the CM Punk vs. Dolph Ziggler match where we might just see a repeat of last year's Rumble where Ziggler was involved in a World Title match only to lose, as much as I want him to win it because it will only add more matches to the WrestleMania card.
It's a pretty safe bet Jericho vs. Punk should be set in stone.

The names at the end wasnt my guesses, I just threw those out there to see what people thought.
Even if Jericho is set to win it, they can still have suprise entrants to make an appearance and not win it, even if it's just a one night return like RVD, Nash, Booker T, etc previously.
As for the winner, I think Jericho is the obvious choice. There's not a lot of others I think that are ready to step up and win it. Ziggler would be a good choice if the WWE title match takes place first and he then enters himself into the Rumble.

The Jericho thing is a strange one. Going from the current gimmick, how could a feud with Punk be started? Punk is anti-establishment, and Jericho's gimmick is anti-establishment.
I think because of WWE's impatience that the Jericho thing will become a lot clearer next week, in time for a Rumble appearance. I think they should slow burn this thing a lot longer and build it up going into WM and leave titles out of it.
So surprise entrants I think Jericho will come in at number 30 and win it, and it'll be revealed Stephanie McMahon put him in at number 30. Woah! Crazy predictions! Also going along the same lines of WWE chasing Kurt Angle, I think all of Paul's suggestions (bar Goldberg, I doubt WWE will ever work with him again) are pretty good. I think you can essentially lock in Lesnar, and Undertaker. They eliminate each other, bam WrestleMania match. I don't think Lesnar will return on a permanent basis, just Rumble and few appearances in between to keep the feud going.

I'm suprised to see you mention Lesnar / Taker at the Rumble but it makes a lot of sense.
I definitley see Taker returning but I cant see them having him return in the Rumble only to get eliminated by some current star, which he'd then go on to face at Mania. Basically that's because there's not many that I would think would make a big WrestleMania match with him, so if they had Lesnar come in and eliminate him to set up that match it would be huge.

to me, i fear wwe will have jericho start, think he's won the rumble then have taker appear as the 30th contestant, suggesting nobody who follows wwe can count or something wank like that... i almost pray for a watered down DX to again reform the way wwe is at the minute, its piss poor.
if they had any sense, they'd even have had foley return at the rumble, win, force a no dq match at mania, and lose because lets face it, with foleys hardcore stupidity, he doesnt need to win, he just needs to throw himself at shit for over half an hour.

After seeing Foley on Raw, I'd be happy if he never stepped foot near a wrestling ring ever again. He can barely walk, he's fatter than ever, and honestly he looks like he's doing a permanent Jim Ross bells palsy impersonation...but better than Oklahoma.

While my booker hat is still on (where's Bizang when I need him), looking forward to WrestleMania and the presumed John Cena heel turn taking place there. In a rare genius move for WWE, they seem to have implicated Zack Ryder into all that too, and they're slow cooking it. It's very unlike them. Can go two ways, or no ways if WWE go back to their normal selves.
Scenario one sees Ryder turn heel with Cena, you've got a legit fan fave in Ryder who's popularity is through the guy working his arse off to get over, and you have Cena a 100% marketing creation. Turn them both heel and you have a team that is a legit dominant heel team.
Not my preferred scenario though, scenario 2 sees Cena turn heel and feud with a face Ryder. Elevating Ryder to top face. Ryder's gimmick would change into a more serious one, dropping the purple and Broski stuff. I'm high on Ryder, I can't believe WWE left him on the sidelines for so long with nothing to do. Where others would give up though, Ryder started a grassroots movement, pretty much unheard of.
He's already dropped the US belt, as they don't want the belt caught up in the feud, they just needed him to win it to confirm him as a top player then lose it in an unclean fashion to not lose credibility. My only question would be whether to keep Kane in the picture, I don't like the idea of a Cena/Ryder/Kane/Eve stable, it's just a strange fit and the stigma of Kane having turned them heel would linger in my head despite him not being the top member in the group. I also don't like him involved in a Cena v Ryder feud. There's just nothing left for Kane to do if this ends for him, he has to be in it for the long haul. There's simply no one left in the company for this guy to feud with. Maybe the stable will happen, and it'll be some type of The Brood/nwo hybrid...

I'd prefer to see Cena turn on Ryder to help elevate him, otherwise I just see him taking a back seat heel role behind Cena.
For me, Kane being involved isnt a good thing. I cant remember one storyline involving him i've liked for years now.
