The revelation was certainly not the plot suddenly making sense.

i've started playing but only past the 'heres how to do this/that/climb/chariot/new hook' etc so no spoilers please

I dunno...AC2 ended in such a way that it lead nicely into an AC3. Then AC Brotherhood ended in a way that it would lead nicely into an AC3. Then AC Revelations ends in a way that it leads nicely into an AC3.

All of them went for the "what the fuck" moments, with the first civilisation reveal in AC2, to Desmond killing what's her face in AC Brotherhood. This one doesn't up the ante any mroe than those two, it's just that the potential plot for a true AC3 has changed slightly yet again.
