Skyrim is good and I mean good of all the games that have released this year Skyrim tops them all, there are great moments after great moments and some of the random stuff that happens feels unique to you.The fights with the dragons are awesome as they can appear randomly, one time I was helping some guards takedown a few invading bandits then a dragon shows up wrecking shit freezing the place and another time I was sneaky into a house to do a mission and a dragon shows up and starts attacking a town. You never know what to expect from it it always serves up something new for you to do, for me it tops Oblivion in every way.
It's really hard to explain all of the great things about Skyrim, but if you play it you will understand how great it is for me it is my Game of the Year.
Keeping Up With the Release Schedule...Barely

Ok after neglecting most of my life and girlfriend I have completed the first round of dungeons in Skyward Sword and I wasn't overly impressed. The IGN review mentioned this is the game to tackle Ocarina of Time for the title of best Zelda, I would argue that Wind Waker came close if not is better, but Skyward Sword so far is definitely not better than Wind Waker. I was glad when Assassin's Creed came out that I could take a break from it and maybe come back to it with some fresh eyes and lower expectations.
Then AC Revelations proceeded to try it's best to convince me it was a terrible game. The award for worst opening sequence of events goes to Revelations. This is brute force development at it's worst. The game opens and runs you through pretty much all the different gameplay available one after the other. It plays out as 'heres the platforming section', 'now here's the combat', 'now here's you dangling off the back of a cart', 'now here's you driving a cart', 'now here's you traversing a restricted zone'. It's static, uncohesive and restrictive. AC plays best in the open city with lots of options. The start strips you of this and shows AC at it's worst. Thankfully you get off the boat in Constin.....Istanbul and all is good. Some great texture work keeps the dated engine from showing it's age too much, but strict pathfinding and unnatural looking people are the creaks in the framework. Ezio speaks the local language despite I assume the inherent difficulites of becoming fluently bilingual in the 14th century. Looks like a good AC game for fans.
EDIT - Oh and yeah Game of the Year is set in stone, nothing will overtake Skyrim.

Game of the Year goes to Skyrim without a doubt I've put 60 hours into the game and I've barely touched the main quest, I was 40 hours in and I hadn't been to two of the main cities in the game.
One thing I love about Skyrim is the story telling, side mission and just misc quests all add to the richness of the world and they just suck you in. Even outside of quests just exploring the whole world tells a story from random encounters with inderviduals or exploring a town, it's a great feeling going into a new town for the first time and taking to the people you honestly don't know what to expect it could be something like finding a lost dog or investigating a house fire.
For anyone interested in leveling up smithing simply make lots of iron daggers the materials are cheap, I've currently got some heavy dragon armour and my armour is well over 400 add to that the perks for heavy armour like 25% bonus for a matching set etc it means I can soak up a ton of damage
