i still think a 3rd game will have to use too many of the characters from this game again and as such wont work... mayb if the mad hatter played a bigger role and the joker was, which he probably will be, still alive, we have a story, if not... the game is dead... DC have limited other options sadly.

There will definitely have to be a sequel, they can't walk away from the series with the Joker dead. Plus side missions like Azrael and Hush lead into a third game. There's also many references to Scarecrow still at large and working on something in the game. So I'd say a third is an inevitability, where it takes place is the subject of one of the many in-joke guard quips after the story is completed. Safe to say a large section of Gotham City outside the walls of Arkham ....afterall the Joker was carried out of Arkham by Batman himself...

fair points. now i've collected everything, sat and listened to interviews, read the stories etc i see much more potential. i'd quite like a bit of Azriel gameplay in the next one....

I downloaded the Nightwing pack and for the cost he is worth it, he has a nice array of gadgets, he feels different from the other characters plus the animations for the character are awesome.

I do have some gripes about it though, for one is detective version sucks, any map that has multi layers such as cat walks it is useless as you can't see shit. By far the worst detective vision between all the characters. It seems like it was chosen so you wouldn't use it at all.

The last thing is the speed of Nightwing he is slower than Batman, he should be aleast a bit faster, to me it just feels like something is off the animations just take to damn long. Anyone that downloads it, play as Nightwing for a bit then jump back to Batman and you can notice a huge jump in quality, moves feel way more precise and polished for Batman, there are times with Nightwing where there is some input lag as animations play out it which can leave you pressing buttons without anything registering on screen.

Aside from that I still recommend downloading him as he is a really fun character to play as.

Edit

Something that I thought about with the two challenege maps based in Wayne Manor, Paul Dini mentioned there was a section of the game that was cut. Now I don't know if this is it but the Wayne Manor maps feel like they were part of the single player portion at some point.

In the beginning we see Wayne taken away by Tyger guards in a scene that is kind of random, the Wayne Manor maps have Tyger guards so if I were to guess a storming of Wayne Manor to capture Wayne could of been in at some point.

The maps are quite nice there is what looks to be an entrance to the Batcave through and elevator shaft but it is closed up.

I think i'm around 71% now with only a few of the physical Riddler challenges, new game plus and the challenge maps left to finish, but i'm considering trading it in now while it's still worth a decent amount as there's not much replay value long term.

Ugh those Riddler hostage rooms. I wondered why specific trophies were linked to unlocking certain hostage challengers...and then after two of these 'challenges' it becomes abundantly clear. All the challengers are just a matter of using the correct gadget, the game ensures you have the necessary gadget by linking it to atleast one trophy that requires that gadget to reach. Why is Riddler so pathetically easy to outsmart? And then there's the final battle with him, I'm going to call it here, it is the absolute worst boss fight of the year.

What about the enigma box challenges...those simple riddles with the answers thrown right infront of you. And how about how all the riddles in the city overworld are all unique billboards or store fronts. You don't even need to read the riddles, you just see a non-Arkham City billboard or a dressed up shop front and scan it. It's fucking cheap and just shows a lack of creativity...and time.

Thankfully IGN ran a second opinions on the game, and it seems most editors after the gloss has worn off have realised that maybe this one isn't such the improvement over Arkham Asylum as it originally seemed to them, or atleast the reviewer.

And no I won't be buying the Nightwing challenge maps, I still fucking despise challenge maps.

This is kind of off topic, but Microsoft are running a competition for the Arkham City Xbox 360 if you go to http://www.alfredatyourservice.co.uk/ and search Pennyworth theres the option to enter it. The search results page also should give you a redeem code for a Batman Avatar item if anyone wants it. If you refresh the code changes so you can just do that till you get one that hasnt been used. I think the second one worked for me.

I think the majority of people that have played Arkham City now feel that the game is good but it isn't such a leap forward as it first seemed. Though there is still people saying that the story is amazing and it's better than the Dark Knight or any other Batman story, which leaves me taking a line from the Miz....really?

I've played all the challenge maps now with all the characters apart from Robin and while the combat is good for multiple enemies for one on one it's rubbish there is nothig to it. Hopefully in the next game they can flesh out the combat system so fighting feels more dynamic, currently even bosses pose little threat to Batman it feels way to easy nothing puts up a challenge.
The way the game tries to make things harder is simply by throwing more enemies at you, rather than better AI. I would like it if some enemies would counter your attacks and you could then counter that or attack.
My main problem with the combat is it feels like the game is just attack attack attack there is very little defenses elements to the combat system. Movement is also something that really needs improving, holding down A to run is ok outside of combat but in combat when you arn't punching, Batman just walks about casually. The only way to get into a better position is to jump over enemies.

One awesome thing about the start of Arkham City was alot of it was in game, struggling out of the chair and the few scenes that follow were awesome and immersive. I really wished that the rest of the game had story elements like this, rather than just watching a cutscene. Cutscenes are fine but I would like to see the dynamic scenes like this featured more in the game, possibly taking a page out of Uncharteds book.

I'm not sure exactly what happened in this game but I think Batman was handled poorly he comes across wooden with barely any emotion, there are times when he is good but for most of the game he's just there. In AA his character was much better and way more consistant and dealt with different aspects of the character on a better level.

I think the reason AA was so successful was down to it had a lot of focus where as AC it is spread to thin, some things are awesome while others are awful like VR missions which really have no place in the game. I'm curious to see what the single player DLC will be and if it will be content that Paul Dini said was cut from the game.

I now hate this game.

I played with the new game plus all the way to wonder tower, get to Hugo Strange and it freezes each time Batman kicks him.

It didnt take too long, maybe a few hours. Things that took awhile previously like the museum were really quick as you have all your gadgets so you can just use your zipline to cross the room, etc. I didnt do the side missions this time around tho so I have a feeling that might be the cause of the game freezing.

As for the fights, bosses, etc. I could tell the difference in the first few fights but once I just started using evade and doing, X, AA over and over it may aswell have been on easy. Like someone mentioned above about the way they've tried to make it harder by just increasing the amount of people to fight, they've also added more with guns but if you freeze a bunch of them with ice and use your disruptor to disable another two guns it's still pretty easy.

I'm waiting out on doing NG+ for now until the skin pack releases, I'm a little burnt out with the game, saying that I think I'll enjoy the second run through the game more seeing as I'll know what to expect coming.

I ran into Killer Croc accidentally because the game didn't direct me where it wanted me to go well enough. One of the times you go to Wonder Tower, I think the first time just after you fight Ra's, all you have to do is try to exit through the sewers that lead to the industrial section. Croc blocks your way, the developers want you to exit through the subway.

Something really cool has been found, I thought it was bs at first but I checked it and and it's right. If you go to the Idenity Thiefs hideout (Hush) stay in the room for a while and look around. There are similar tanks that are found on Scarecrow's boat and if you wait around the same bugs will start appearing that are on the boat as well.

Another thing the building has boarded up windows with a white light behind them yet it is dark outside and there are now windows on that side of the building.

I could be totally wrong but I think this could be building towards some single player DLC, after all Kevin Conroy the guy that voices Batman said that he record dialouge for a continuation of Arkham City and that it would be an on going thing.

Cool, i'd love to see some single player dlc.

Has anyone found out anything about the locked door in the steel mill? It's the one to the right of the lift where you fight a mob. There was a piece of metal blocking the door when you first go there but after completing the game the metal disappears but the door is still locked.
