first game i've pre-ordered in a loooonnnnggg time. can't wait. shame you cant use robin or nightwing in the actual story tho :S

GAME have already started processing my order so I'm hoping it comes early, I ordered two copies the standerd edition for the PS3 and the collectors editon for the 360. Gives me another excuse to play the game again.

it's good to see all the reviews coming in positive, I've spent this morning watching the video reviews. Feels good.
Also thanks for pre-ordering it, or buying new, as this has a very real effect on me.

ALL STAR, what does the collectors edition come with? I haven't kept up with it this time so I don't really know.

lmao well then alex, fell extra special, because most games i get are either borrowed for ps3 or downloaded for 360. i loved AA and the addition of a decent looking robin, nightwing etc interests me immensely.

has much been done to the challenge maps? last time it felt too much like the room was just a big circle and everyone runs at you which got dull for me.

Compared to the previous version which had a challenge map and the batarang I think this is better all round, plus I think it's cheaper. I'm noticing a lot of DLC for the game which is awesome I loved the challenge maps in the first game so more characters and maps is a good thing. I would love to see some single player possibly covering Nightwing.


Statue, game soundtrack, Gotham Knights film, Ice Berg Lounge Challenge map and The Dark Knight Returns skin.

Oh I picked up the Green Lantern film on blu ray and you get a Sinestro Batman Skin

I'm pretty sure all costumes will make their way to paid DLC after a time of excusivity. I preodered that mad dog collector's edition for 360 for the Kotobukiya statue alone.

EDIT - Breaking my long standing 'no preorders' rule I've lived by for so long. I replayed Arkham Asylum over two days, getting all collectibles, ignored the dull as shit challenge maps (I agree Aero), read the Arkham City comic mini-series and digital chapters. I am ready.

I actually loved the challenge maps of the big fights way more than the tactical takedowns ones.

Would you argue that fighting in a square area of the prison was different than fighting in a square area of the say the botanical gardens? They weren't really 'maps', they were backdrops.

I enjoyed the fights over the takedown maps, my favourite being the scarecrow map. They weren't all just backdrops though the harder maps were in a more confined space with more enemies or the map would have electrified floors. There is just something fun about playing those maps taking out around 20 guys.

I'm hoping the maps in Arkham City a more varied so in each map you have to adapt rather than it being a facelift.

As for the DLC skins they did annouce a skin pack will be available early November? could be wrong about the date but it's around that time. No idea yet if it will be all the pre order skins yet.

On the first playthrough will anyone be going for every riddler trophy I think they upped it to 350 for this game.

Which version have you guys pre-ordered?

I went with the Robin Edition but I noticed Amazon have a steel case edition, etc.

i went for robin, the AC robin looks fucking awesome... the cartoony one not so much and the 3rd one... i've not decided. tesco also have the joker steel case.

the early november dlc skin pack is nightwing.

Burnt hard by the pre order, knew I shouldn't have broken my rule. Was at the shops, street date has been broken, I'm stuck with a fucking online pre order.

Ordered both the Collectors Edition and the Robin Edition from GAME, the Robin Edition is the obvious choice over an alt skin. Just checked my email and my Collectors Edition has been shipped but the other version is still being processed so I should be getting the game early.

Got a message at 8pm to say the Robin Edition has shipped, looks like I'll be playing Arkham City either Wednesday or Thursday.

Just got my Robin Edition through the post, havn't started playing it yet but I'll give my thoughts a little later. The main menu is awesome the music is kickass has a Dark Knight vibe about it.

Update

Played a bit of both versions about 30mins each I'm going to play through the 360 version first. I did notice the 360 seems to have a better frame rate at times but it is hard to notice. When it comes down to the actual game simply put, this is one of the best games I've ever played.

didnt realise catwoman is actually DLC content, thought she was a main character in the game.
