I've been puzzled for awhile why this game has received so much hype in the lead up to the release. So I downloaded the beta today on the PS3 and jumped in and guess what, this is an updated version of Bad Company 2 that plays a little faster. That isn't exactly a bad thing but the game really doesn't deserve the hype it is getting on consoles.

Graphically it is on about the same level as Bad Company 2 on consoles I havn't played the PC but of course it is going to look better but still I don't think it is anything special to look at. One thing that is striking is that the polygon count seems to of gone down but textures etc seem to be better, I guess this is to mask the limitations of the console hardware.

With that being said the game is still fun and it isn't broken in anyway, it just feels a little too generic for me.

I've only played a few games on the PC version but i'm really liking it. I started playing BF2 earlier this year after a bunch of mates talked me into buying it and BF3 definitley feels more Bad Company than it does BF but that's a good thing imo.

I dunno how many maps are available in the Beta but I played the street/subway level which looked miles better than anything i've played to date. On the downside, I got constantly noobed with rocket launchers! :2

I think if anyone is going to play BF3 the PC is the way to go, I thought it was a strange map to but into the beta with no vehicles it feels very narrow and it turns into somewhat of a meat grinder.

I havn't had much issue with rocket launchers, the promlem I'm having is that a lot of people are camping and I mean like the attacking team camping at spawn. There is also the issue of players hiding in bushes hoping someone will run by, I remember playing games like 1942 and Battlefield 2 and I honestly don't remember players camping this much.
