Metroid Other M is average and more like the hand-holding underwhelming GBA games than the awesome Metroid Primes 1 and 3 but not confusing and bland 2.

Spiderman Shattered Dimensions is good; but keep in mind the last spiderman game I played properly was Spiderman 2. And much like everyone else I thought the city swinging bits were pretty cool, but the actual game was pretty crap. The game did serve to remind me of underappreciated X-Men Origins Wolverine The Far Superior Videogame To The Below Average Movie. Why no more X-Men games since?

downloaded spiderman shattered dimensions yesterday... i'm gonna go as far as saying its the best spiderman yet that i've played. not got around to playing web of shaddows yet... its no batman AA (tho spiderman noir is a bit like that) but its worth a play, i do quite like the logic of the 4 different dimensions all having different abilities, tho i'll confess i generally find them all very samey so far besides noir and being a stealth..... adds that bit more to spiderman.

i also like all the individual levels rather than the freedom of a GTA style map, reason being it cuts out all those shitty side missions of going around saving people and racing the human torch and replaces it with finding shit on each level and doing other wee tasks etc.

I do like the look of shattered dimensions though im going to wait till it drops in price, the amazing universe doesnt interest me that much 2099 the ultimate and the noir universe look much better, i would really like to play a full game based on 2099.

Two of the Spiderman games i really enjoyed were Ultimate Spiderman and Spiderman 3 never played Spiderman 2 or web of shadows .

I totally agree X-Men Origins Wolverine is a great game Raven were working on a follow up based on the CGI ending, which is what the game was going to be like before they changed it to be based on the film license, i think that has been put on hold for now i could be wrong but i remember rumours earlier in the year than Raven were working on something Call of Duty based.

Yeah all the Spider Men play rather similar, which is s shame and a missed opportunity. Obviously time constraints got in the way of injecting each character with his own animations and style, they do try to make up for that loss of characterisation in the voice overs which go above and beyond the call of duty in videogames.

I see this game similarly to Darksiders by Vigil Games. It was far from perfect, appeared a bit robotic at times, and tried to make up for a lack of gameplay character with a strong visual style. For a first crack at a video game though, you couldn't hope for anything more. Beenox are primarily known for porting games, they've developed a couple of small movie tie ins but you can't judge a company on those. I see this really as their first big stab at making their own game, and based on that, it's pretty damn good. It shows that they can run with the big developers now, so it'll be interesting to see what they come up with next. I certainly wouldn't rule out a sequel with a new slate of Spider Men. Possibly not different dimensions, but from different points in time this time around.
