So im in the process of purchasing a PS3, specifically the 250 gig. Ive been waiting mainly for the money, so last week i got my paycheck and figured i had enough to buy me one. Well figures that just as im ready to buy a PS3 everyone is sold out. The best buy i was at not two weeks ago had between 10 -15 PS3 in stock. I think its weird that sony would start to have demand problems right as God of War 3 is coming out. Maybe this will push them to meet the demand sooner. Thats my problem and i am sad : (

I'd just have a look on the net, your bound to get a much better deal than buying it locally.

Yes, Sony selling consoles faster then they can stock them is certainly a sign of them failing. Bright sparks on smacktalks these days.

Well now i think im just gonna get the 120 cause im only gonna get the PS3 exclusives. All the multi platforms releases im gonna get for the xbox. Right off the bat it gonna cost around 350 cause im get uncharted 2. Im thinking of the GoW collection and GoW 3 or i might wait.

Why? I can name a few games recently where the PS3 version has been far superior to the 360 version.

and I can likely name a few where the 360 version is better.
Works both ways, both consoles have similar versions of games where it doesn't really matter which you get; which is the aim of multiplatform.

However, if done badly, the PS3 version of games can be visibly worse (Ghostbusters, Bioshock 2) but there's no real reason for that other than bad decisions.

My two cents is, I'd buy 360 copies, because I prefer the pad which doesn't feel cheap unlike sonys pos.
PEACE

Bad PS3 ports exist for sure, and I'm definitely not championing the PS3's overall multiplatform gaming prowess. I'd just invest 5 minutes of my time checking a Digital Foundry face off to reaffirm my decision. Most times though, yeah if you didn't put them side by side you wouldn't know any better. In that case most people would buy the 360 version for achievements, because most people are whores, dirty dirty whores.

Once again, not championing the PS3's multiplatform prowess, although it has gotten a lot better. I just said "I can name a few games recently", a few, and recently, where the PS3 version is superior. To take a hardline "All multiplatform games I will buy for 'X' console" is a bullish stance to be taking.

Lets not blow this out of proportion.

Well Crisis Averted i got my PS3, but i do Agree with Jitz if the Ps3 version of a game seems to be better i may bet it. I now have a Choice. I picked up Uncharted 2 and GoW Collection.

I do only get games on the 360, I don't know why. PS3 has the best exclusives though.

Digital Foundry can go over the top, but that's their job. Hidden in every article though are the words "This version is the one to get", that's all you need to know, and they have mountains of techincal data to back up their reasoning that can be interesting to watch sometimes. The Final Fantasy XIII one is a good watch, The 360 version runs at a sub-HD resolution, but comparing the two games you'd never know. There's differences, but they're incredibly minor. Why did they rush for HD resolutions? Then watch the cinematic comparison and laugh, Blu Ray vs DVD was never a competition.
