For those wondering, the future of the ECW Championship has not yet been decided on. Though ECW will cease to exist next week, the belt may linger on in some fashion. Internally, some are lobbying to keep the belt, but ultimately, Vince McMahon will decide its fate and he hasn't made a decision yet. Those pushing to keep it feel it can still be used as an attraction for undercards of secondary pay-per-view events.

It's always been in that role ever since it was reactivated. Just deactivate it again and bring in the NXT Title.

I think they can spin a good storyline out of it. If they have Christian keep it (or put it on another babyface they want over before the final ECW) they can refuse to relinquish it because it means so much or whatever. If it's Christian he can reference how he won it from Dreamer and owes him too much to let it die or some shit.

Cue McMahon and management trying to take it off it him and Christian resisting. He can do it across Raw and Smackdown if they like. That would totally push Christian over into the main event if it worked out.

Not with that attitude.

if WWE wasn't all PG ang gay now, it could just be the new hardcore belt... renaming you the extreme rules champ instead of the hardcore champ you to make the ECW letters on it make more sense...

but that obviously wont happen... give it to cena, let him make it into a spinning title then retire it, so that when you read about its entire shitty history under wwe rule, the belt can look as big of a joke as WWECW was.
