A sample version of the new news website is now online to show a few of the pages and get some feedback on the design before I start adding the rest of the coding to allow replies, etc. You can access the preview site at the following link.

News Article w/Video
Please leave any feedback you have in the replies below, thanks.

I really like the look everything looks slick and fits well together, like joe said though a new header would look better the smack logo looks a little out of place plus the right side of the banner is looking a little empty.
The top news story is nice and i like the twitter icons and such by the story its a nice little touch.

Cheers guys, i've left the logo inso I could use the right side for an ad, but I can always put a header image all the way across and then have the ad show above it. What'd you think?
I was speaking to Chris on MSN about the design and my main feel was the article pages story and comments merged together and it didn't really seperate the two. Chris suggested turning the article to be a light colour and leave the comments dark to put the emphasis on the article, so I tried that but it didn't look right so i've removed the article background and turn the whole left side to a lighter colour. See what you think now.

the change of the smack logo away from blue is an improvement as it didnt fit in with the rest of the design, and yeah, i think you made a good decision implimenting chris' suggestion
i cant help but think i'll et bored of the current broken glass / breaking point bakground but it makes sense as we're called smacktalks etc/

Haven't had Chinese in way too long!
The background should be easy enough to change each month, although seeing as you can log into it with your ST account I can set it up so you can use your own custom background which might be a nice touch.
While i'm waiting for some more comments, etc. i'll make a start on setting up the predictions section so it's up in time for Breaking Point, didn't realise it's next Sunday. It seems like it was only just Summerslam.

The new versions looks much better it reads alot better it all fits together nicely. The smack logo looks better white but with it sitting above the background it looks a little lost i think if the top was a banner with the smack logo, maybe a banner with the smack logo with chunks of broken glass around it.

Yeah, it had the potential to look a bit dicky, I like it a lot better now that it's brighter. Especially the brighter logo. With changing the background lighter, I would change the red text colour slightly redder. With the added overall brightness of the page, it's coming off a little pink.
I would also change just the news story header and content font size up a point, maybe two.
