Over the next month the whole Smack Network will be getting a reboot, bringing a fresh new look to the networked sites Smacktalks and CAWSearch.
Smacktalks
Smacktalks will lead the way with updates to the Smacktalks news website, bringing in a new site that moves away form the blog feel of old and allows members to interact with news stories in the same way they can on the forum, e.g. commenting on articles, voting, etc. Alongside this, all articles will be 1-Click away from submission to the top social networking sites of Twitter, Facebook, StumpleUpon & Digg.
In terms of new features, a new system will be setup for PPV predictions, allowing members to save their predictions and then have their scores added to a leaderboard after the PPV to compete in a prediction league.
Following the predictions, the Tuesday Night Pub Quiz will be making a return allowing users to submit their answers and then have them scored and added to the Pub Quiz League Standings.
Alongside the new design and updated sections, new sections of the site will soon be launched, starting with the SvR 2010 section to continue the success of all the visitors to last years SvR 2009 news site. Other sections will be named at a later date.
CAWSearch
CAWSearch will be updated to the new Smack Network look and allow users to login with their Smacktalks account, from here users can setup lists of their favourite CAW Creators which can then subscribe to via custom RSS feeds.
Along with the custom RSS feeds, feeds will now be available for all creators and games allowing members to easily see when new submissions are added.
Youtube
A new Youtube show is in the works to air following PPV's, this will go over match results and show fan feedback from around the globe.
I'd really like to hear what you think of these new features that are in the works and if anyone has any ideas on other new features you'd like to see please reply with your comments.
Regards,
Paul.

skimmed through it the other day, never paid much attention, i'm liking the sound of the return of the quiz and the leagues, if only we could stop people cheating... possibly look into keeping an eye on peoples scores and giving any1 suspicious of cheating a points penalty??
was just thinking tonight, with there being easier methods of transfering CAWs this year, would it be worth while making a bigger deal of members xboxlive names etc?

im not really sure yet, am looking into a few options, i effectively want to take the stickied topic with every1s gamertag and glorify it... alternatively, members posting their own caws could also advertise their gamertag in topics, something like that. would encourage people to look for other caws made by that member too, might increase traffic, seeing how this new caw transfer system could hurt CAW sites like this one, it would mayb keep us in the game a bit more

Aero: Yeah, i'm gonna have a think about how best to approach the new SvR game with the new caw sharing system. If you want to help put together some ideas on how to work it into the site than we can set a date/time to discuss ways of doing it? That also goes for anyone else that wants to throw in some ideas on it.
Phil: In the long run that would be ideal, but the first show we'll be putting together will also feature clips submitted by other youtube users, albeit with permission to use the videos I dont think it would classify us to become a partner. I'd have to look into the terms.
Depending on the success of the show it could open the door to other things like our own wrestling show, as i've had people in the past talk about us uploading their local shows for people to watch providing we film and edit the show together ourselves as it would open them up to new fans and also gain a lot of hits from local people for us. So there's plenty of directions we could go if it takes off.
