As of late i've received a lot of PM's in regards to flaming in topics, arguments and bad language. Not to mention the topics i've been in and edited myself.

This is a constant problem here and has been for years, therefore as of today I want an end put to it.

From today, anyone found using bad language in an abusive manner towards another, flaming or starting arguments will receive a one day suspension. This will be recorded and further occurences will result in a suspenion, double of your previous one.

Example.

First Suspension: One Day
Second Suspension: Two Days
Third Suspension: Four Days

Anyone who finds someone posting abusive posts as mentioned above should post a topic in the Feedback & Suggestions forum for action to be taken.

How about U add the fact U have Mods here who choose to talk **** about me and then when I defend myself I get blocked from posting where as the others are still allowed to call me a crack pot, and tell me to F myself for having an opinion.

Dude, I think I'm going to have to quit the board, asking me not to swear is like asking me not to eat or drink. It's natrual !

Also, how are people not going to flame the likes of subrick ?

Oh LORD, I am going to get suspended every other day. HEY IAIN, I BET I CAN BEAT YOU TO 100 SUSPENSIONS, BALLLLLINNNN !

This may be obivious but the post are just words people dont have to read them, its a matter of choice, where as in a actual conversation you cant really "tune out" someone who youre arguing with. Using bad language is a natural part of talking/typing these days. As for starting a argument, suspension? whats with that, i mean cmon. I love the arguments here, there funny, i love when Sal, Don, Jitz, Iain, etc. get into arguments with other members.
I say its stupid, but hey my opinon dont matter, and ill still some here.

The fact is that some here think it's cool to tell folk to go "**** themselves" for voicing their own opinions. Then when Smacktalk removed and edited it for it they continued refering to others say being a Moron, and other people here who were actually appointed Mod's which should be looked upon to keep things peaceful enturned actually did like wise That's exactly why Smacktalks made this topic. it's also why we were exchanging Pm's most of the afternoon/ night/ early am yesterday into today.

I don't know if this is the best action to take, but I've gotten a number of PM's as well. I was actually the one who was blamed for taking away someone's posting rights. That is stupid, to say the least. StacysMikeyBoy, I believe you owe me an apology. I had nothing to do with the useless flaming surrounding you in the wrestling discussion, nor did I block you from responding back.

Whoever did do this though, you need to man up, and quit being so childish. This happens all the time, yet Paul and I usually get the worse end of it. We sit back trying to let you guys have conversations, yet the older, more established veterans (who complain about not getting new members... ironic?) will dis the younger members such as Subrick, StaysMikeyBoy, among others for no reason whatsoever.

I looked at a topic the other day and someone got flamed for saying a wrestler's full name. Is that really how low you've become? Making fun of someone for posting a wrestler's full name? It's pathetic.

I don't agree with the course of action over swearing. I swear quite a bit. 9 times out of 10, I never direct it towards anyone. It's only to emphasize my point at the topic at hand. But the useless flaming?... Yeah. I have no problems taking action on this. At all.

If you call that 'flaming' then my god, that's EXTREMELY soft. Aero was hardly being nasty when he made the comment, he was just saying what everyone else was thinking.

To be honest, I don't see anyone complaining about not getting new members ? As for the members you mentioned, specifically subrick - there are oh so many reasons why he gets "flamed". Just read his topics/replies, he brings it on himself.

It's quite hilarious that this topic has been made on the basis of a 30 odd year old man whinging to Paul that he's being bullied on a forum.

Ah well, PEACE GUYS

"PC actually can be a good thing, but only in very light moderation. You remember the European cartoon depicting Muhammad back in 2006? That was just a minor joke and yet those cunt for brains Muslims just had to get their way and have the cartoon censored or else they would most likely bomb more shit. People who embrace PC and use it 100% of the time in their lives make guys like Richard Pryor and George Carlin roll in their graves. Again, PC is NOT a bad thing, but it should only be used in very light moderation. You only live once, so why have it spoiled by a bunch of sensitive pussies that refuse to grow a pair?" - Me (From my Family Guy = Shit topic)

As you can all see, you obviously know my stance on SmackTalks! "going PG" like Coolest said. I propose that a 3 strike rule should be utilized for those starting agruments and flaming with the strikeout resulting in a 4 or 5 long day suspension with repeated offenses being stacked up to 6 and 7 days and so on. Cursing, like TV's Joe Lauzon said, is a common part of socializing on the Internet. What I can't believe is that an allegedly 30(+) year old man is whining about being bullied by guys who are more or less 10 years younger than he is. If you are or over the age of 25 and you feel bullied, you are a pussy, plain and simple.

Joe, they may not ask for new members so to speak, but they constantly wonder why this is place is dying. To me, both go hand in hand.

HB hit the nail on the head. The fact is that new members dont stick around because of the constant flaming and arguing that goes on.

As for the swearing, i've edited my original post as I meant it in regards to people swearing towards others in an abusive manner. As for swearing in general conversation, I personally dont have a problem with this. Swearing is common place in most conversations these days.

However, I dont want to see the use of the N word at all. As that is the one word that will instantly defer people away.

I'm happy to leave these rules open for discussion, however I want to see the current levels of flaming, etc. drop.

I MP'd the kid and I clearly put my reasoning for doing so, that was the path of least resistance in my mind and I stand by it. So Staceymikesboy or whatever your name is, maybe before you go pissing and moaning to the likes of Ladyhawk and Paul assuming they did it, why not ask calmly why you were put on MP.

As far as this nor swearing/flaming idea, it is by far your worst idea in recent memory Paul. Flaming and swearing is the back bone of the internet, along with pornography and conspiracy theories. As much as I hate Subrick, he has (for the most part) taken all of the flame and shit like a trooper and has come back like a masochist for more. Like him or not, you have to respect that. Now a new member or three has thin skin and can't take a little flaming and you're threatening to suspend members? That's fucking bullshit. Uh-oh... is that a one or two day suspension? There is an old saying "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."

Oh ok I got the wrong end of the stick then that's cool. However, errrr, if someone pisses me off on purpose, or keeps repeatidly doing something that gets on my tits when they've been told not to - i'm natrually going to throw a few F words at them.

HB, i think we should get married.

Ok, fair enough. If the N world is used in an abusive manner then you'll be suspended.

Excellent ! I don't use it in an abusive manner, unless to a friend in a jokey way. Probably because I know if I called a black guy a nigger he'd whoop my cracker ass all over the floor. =(
