Hey dudes. I've got a f*ckin' problem on the PS3. How do u connect to the Internet. I tried connecting the Ethernet cable to my wall outlet where u connect the phone cable, but it dosen't work. This is 'cause the PS3's cable is too fat to fit in the wall. I even tried a regular phone cable and connected that to the Ps3 which goes to the wall. I really need help! Thanks for the assistance! :)

the cable isnt too fat, you just need to lube it up and jam it in there.

I can't believe there are people in the world who own the latest piece of technology, but still don't have broadband internet.

And sunny, before you go off half cocked about how it's shit that you can't use dial-up on a PS3, just keep in mind that you would be crawling along so slowly it would be worthless to you anyway.

Yeah, I know that I need to acquire a broadband connection. I'll get that about by next week or so. But, the thing is, that Ps3 Ethernet cable is too fat to fit in the wall outlet. The instruction manual says I need a router. Will it work if I get one? Okay thanks for the advice.

Ok I'll help the poor kid for two posts and that's it.

When you get your broadband modem/router, it will have have small socket and a big socket. Connect your wall socket to the small socket on the modem (it's called RJ11 as scoot pointed out)). Then connect your PS3 into one of the modem/router's ethernet ports (the big socket, RJ45 as scoot pointed out).

Now I await further questions on vague things like "I've plugged it in but it's still not working". My suggestion before you start punching in numbers all willy nilly would be to start simple. Don't use any security encryption, just try to get it working first THEN fuck around and try to secure the wireless network.

I look forward to the questions...
