HB and I had a discussion the other day about the graphics for Halo 3. He wants to see some huge improvement over Halo 2 while I could gave two shits about the graphics as long as they get the gameplay balanced and keep it (more or less) the same way that's kept people playing for almost three years now. Assuming that the image was tkaen in-game I gotta think HB will be somewhat pleased. Maybe it's not exactly Gears of War quality, but it's looking damn purdy thus far.

I'm excited for the beta (even if they did push back Forza 2 for it) and excited for that map as well. Thinking about play BTB Capture the Flag on that map has my thumbs twitching already with the turret up above the door. It will be an orgy of blood and bullets and I shall enjoy it.

if you want another game that has the same graphics and gameplay as halo 2, why not just play halo 2?

I do still play Halo 2. When I'm online it's either Gears of Halo 2 in my 360.

I was pretty much saying that (since I'm a duckling and all) Halo 3 could pretty much have new maps and weapons and I'll be happy.

Halo 3 is an impressive looking video game. Don't get me wrong. But like I've said countless times, I've been spoiled by Gears of War. I think Halo 3 will look great. I think it'll also play great. But will it be a huge step up from Halo 2? I don't think so. They have plenty of time to prove me wrong. But I think it's going to be basically the same game that they made in November of 2004. Now, I know that's exactly what you are looking for, Don. And if so, that's awesome. I hope the game is everything you dream it will be. But as of right now, I don't see a huge step forward into the next generation by the Halo franchise.

But who am I kidding. I've already pre-ordered it. (Regular edition. There's no way in hell I'm shelling out anything more than 60 dollars on this game.) I know I'll play it quite a bit. There's no denying that. I just wish there was something that made this stand out from Halo 2.

Cant wait till beta ill be spending a long time playing and then sad when its over. i also going to try my luck(and fail) cause im not pre ordering Halo 3 ill get it for my b-day along with GTA 4

I'm not buying it, until it seems mandatory. Plus, if I do buy it, it'll be basically only for Single/Co-op play. Hopefully, it's a shit load better than last time.

I'm predicting that the most people will by the $130 edition. Mainly so that they can dress up as Master Chief for Halloween with their home made Master Chief outfit and the plastic Spartan helmet they get with the game.

They actually revealed later on after they released the legendary edition for pre-order that the helmet is in fact not wearable and is more of an ornament. It's basically a really big paper weight.

That got me quite giddy to play the beta, however with the lack of a human pistol my favorite combo (SMG and pistol) I'm going to have to improvise...

I really don't get why people think that Bungie needs to change the formula they used in Halo 2 for Halo 3. Why would you change a game formula that many people consider to be the Godfather of all console FPS games? If you have Aerosmith on the card, you don't replace them with My Chemical Romance because they seem old and dated. The fact of the matter is, Halo 3 WILL be the best selling FPS game to date, whether any of you like it or not. Gamestop/EB Games already have an unprecidented 2 million+ reservations for the game, so if anyone says the game sucks, I think the majority of people that actually know what quality is, will tell you you're a fucking idiot.

Majority of the people know what quality is? Everyone I play on the 360 has said halo is over-rated and anyone who actually says it's the best game ever, well fps anyway, is usually a little annoying fucking kid.

Yeah. I'm honestly not impressed at all with this game at the moment. The graphics aren't an improvement. The gameplay is the same. The only difference is a bubble, I believe. If anything, this game should be called Halo 2.5.

im one of the 2 million plus who have pre-ordered it. and ya they got me all giddy over the legendary edition. so ofcourse i had 2 pre order that one. im personally a big halo fan. ive always enjoyed it not just because of the gameplay but i really tihnk the story is just really cool. i did love gears of war but like one dude said its not a FPS. but if im put in a room and told to make a choice between GOW and halo. id choose halo personally. just love the game.
