BROOKE HOGAN TO JOIN TNA’S “IMPACT WRESTLING” ON SPIKE TV STARTING THURSDAY, MAY 31

New York, NY, May 17, 2012 – Television personality and recording artist Brooke Hogan is joining the cast of the highly-rated weekly wrestling program, TNA’s “IMPACT WRESLTING” starting Thursday, May 31 on Spike TV. Brooke’s role will be as the Executive in Charge of the female wrestling division, The Knockouts. Brooke will join a star-studded cast of the biggest names in professional wrestling, including her father, wrestling legend Hulk Hogan. TNA’s flagship series, “IMPACT WRESLTING,” telecasts on Spike TV and is one of the network’s top-rated series on Thursday nights with young men and currently ranks among the top shows on cable in its timeslot with Men 18-34.

In addition to overseeing the traditional duties of the Knockouts Division, Brooke will bring a new energy and direction to the role working with the girls in a variety of capacities.

"I have really gotten to know Brooke by working with her on her music career this past year and a half," said Dixie Carter, President of TNA Wrestling. "When we did talk wrestling, I not only loved her passion and knowledge of it, but the fresh, creative ideas she would come up with. She is very savvy. I asked if she would consider teaming up with me in this capacity while she also worked on her music, and I was thrilled when she said ‘yes.’ A big personality runs in her genes, obviously, and I know she is going to take an already exciting division of Impact Wrestling to another level."

Brooke is heading to New York next week for a media tour to promote her addition to the IMPACT WRESTLING team. Brooke will also promote “IMPACT WRESTLING’s” move to 8 PM and that the series will telecast LIVE for the summer starting Thursday, May 31. TNA's 10th anniversary SLAMMIVERSARY pay-per-view-event is set for June 10th in Dallas, Texas.

The TNA roster features many of the top names in wrestling including the aforementioned Hulk Hogan, Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Bobby Roode, Sting, James Storm, Rob Van Dam, and the lovely and lethal Knockouts.

Brooke Hogan, a native of Tampa, Fl, is a successful television personality, singer and songwriter. Brooke starred in two acclaimed non-scripted shows on Spike’s sister network, VH1, including “Hogan Knows Best” and the spinoff, “Brooke Knows Best.” Both were #1 rated shows for the network. Brooke has also released two albums, “Undiscovered” in 2006 which peaked at #28 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “The Redemption” in 2009. Her song, "Everything To Me," peaked at #1 twice on Billboard’s Top Single Chart. Hogan’s film credits include “Little Hercules in 3D,” “Sand Sharks,” and “Devour.”
CM Punk interrupts and says that his prayers have been answered, since Laurinaitis will be fired. He says he wants to be the first to wish him the best in his future endeavors. Laurinaitis says this is all the WWE Universe’s fault, and says that they can all go to Hell. As punishment for his interruption, Laurinaitis announced that Punk will face Kane tonight.

TNA taped next week’s episode of Impact Wrestling from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Below are the full taping results:

Dark Match:

Kazarian w/Christopher Daniels defeated Mike Knox via a Slingshot into a DDT.

They filmed a music video for CMT with country artist Montgomery Gentry.

Impact Wrestling (Airing 5/24):

Gail Kim came to the ring with Madison Rayne. She said bring Gail Kim is not just good, but it’s great. Not only is she the current Knockout’s Champion, but she is also the most dominant champion in the history of the belt. She says she built this division and truly is the division. She says that she is going to take this opportunity to call out the Knockout’s Tag Team Champions Eric Young and ODB. Throughout the promo, Madison was noticeably not paying attention to Gail.

In a Knockout’s Tag Team Championship, Gail Kim & Madison Rayne defeated ODB & Eric Young to become the new champions. ODB had Gail set up for a fall away slam. Eric Young started doing his antics distracting the referee and while he was distracted Madison from the floor pulled ODB’s feet, making Gail land on ODB. Madison held her feet down from the floor as Gail made the pin. EY and ODB chased Gail and Madison to the back after the match.

Rob Van Dam came out and said he has been sidelined from the World Title and has some unfinished business. He decides to call out Gunner.

Rob Van Dam defeated Gunner with the Five Star Frog Splash.

Devon made his way to the ring with a mic. He said a few weeks ago Hulk Hogan gave him an opportunity to defend the TV title on Impact every week but last week he gave himself a shot to become the #1 contender for the World Title. In that Battle Royal, Garett Bischoff eliminated Devon so tonight he will give Garett a shot and see if Lady Luck is still on his side.

In a Television Title Match, Devon vs. Garett Bischoff was ruled a no contest when Robbie E and Robbie T came out and attacked both of them. Devon and Garett gained the upper hand and laid out the two of them.

Al Snow, Jeremy Borash, and Ring Ka King’s/Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s Joey Ryan were in the ring. Joey Ryan was the next in line for the Gut Check and his opponent is Austin Aries.

In a non-title match, Austin Aries defeated Joey Ryan with a Brainbuster.

Bully Ray comes to the ring with a mic asks the fans if they know who he is. Hulk Hogan apparently decided that out of the four possibilities for Roode, he was the first one that Hogan decided to eliminate so he is going to take it out on everyone here. Someone came up to him and asked Ray if he knew that Joseph Park was in the audience. Park stands up. Ray says he is sick and tired of him and tells him to get in the ring. Park comes down from the stands and makes his way to the ring. Park takes a mic and says he’s not a fighter and has never been in a real fight. He says he’s intimidated. Ray doesn’t care and tells him to get in the ring. Park says he just wanted to find out about Abyss. Park says that over the years he has represented a lot of defenders, some guilty and some not. He has learned to look in a man’s eyes and can tell if he’s guilty, but luckily for Ray, he is entitled to a fair and speedy trial in front of a jury of his peers. He thinks our jury is right here, the fans in the Impact Zone. In reference to the appearance of his brother Chris, you know Abyss, he asks the fans if they think he is not guilty which they boo. He asks if they think he’s guilty to which they cheer. Ray hits Park in the gut, knocking the wind out of him then hits him with his chain. He gets on the ground and says “Not guilty” and leaves. Ray then got into words with Robert Irvine, who was at ringside.

Backstage I assume, Hogan decided that Hardy would not challenge Roode later.

TNA Champion Bobby Roode, AJ Styles & Kurt Angle all made their way to the ring in their gear as Hulk Hogan was going to announce in front of the fans whether it would be AJ or Angle who will face Bobby Roode. Hogan came to the stage and said it was just as intense backstage as it in the Impact Zone. He says both AJ and Angle both have the ability to become the new champion and commends both of them for their accolades. Hogan feels because AJ knows the champion better than Kurt, he is going with AJ and makes it AJ vs Roode for the world title.

In a TNA Championship Match, Bobby Roode retained over AJ Styles via the Payoff. Lengthy match that saw lots of things, including Roode hip-tossing AJ onto the steps and quite a few nearfalls. AJ went for the Springboard 450 but Roode got his knees up then hit the Payoff for the win. Daniels and Kazarian came to the stage and talked as AJ was helped to the back.

Roode took a mic after and said history has been made. Bobby Roode is officially the longest reign World Champion in the history of the company and now it’s time to celebrate and orders champagne be handed to vim. He wants someone to join him and calls Hogan out to celebrate with the champ. Hogan doesn’t come out immediately and Roode said he’s not going anywhere. If he doesn’t want to join him, he will celebrate without him. Confetti sprays everywhere as Roode celebrates. Hogan’s music finally hits and he comes to the ring. He says he is glad he is not a betting man and calls Roode impressive. Roode hands him a glass of champagne and they touch glasses. Hogan says he has to congratulate him and says there is much respect. What Roode did, he did with hard work. Hogan says that he needs to realize that the hard work has just begun. There’s someone else who would like to join him. The lights go out. When they come back on, Sting is behind Bobby Roode. Roode turns around and takes a shot at Sting but Sting overwhelms him. He has his Joker-style facepaint on still. Hogan says for Roode to not leave. He says that starting next week, Impact will be starting in its new time slot. Next week at the start of the show, he is going to surround the ring with Impact Wrestling stars as Roode will face Sting in a Lumberjack match and says it’s showtime

TNA taped this Thursday's episode of Impact Wrestling last night from the Impact Zone in Orland, Florida, below are the full taping results:

Bobby Roode comes out and brags about his victory over Rob Van Dam at Sacrifice. Because he is going to be the longest World Champion in TNA history he wants a celebration party. He calls out Hogan to confirm. Hogan declines it then later announces that at next week’s Open Fight Night, the World Title will be defended. There will be a series of matches (Bully Ray vs RVD, Anderson vs Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe vs Kurt Angle and a Battle Royal) with the winners facing off next week in a Fatal 4-Way. The winner of that match will face Roode later in the night for the World Heavyweight Title.

In the first match, Bully Ray defeated Rob Van Dam to advance to next week’s 4-Way.

AJ Styles won a 10-Man Battle Royal (also included Austin Aries, Robbie E and Robbie T, Devon, Garett Bischoff, Crimson, Magnus, Eric Young and Gunner). After the match, Hogan congratulated AJ.

AJ stood in the ring to explain the Dixie Carter scandal. Before he could thoroughly explain it, Daniels and Kazarian came out interrupting him. Daniels and Kazarian then show a video of AJ on their IPAD of of Dixie Carter and AJ Styles at a hotel. They end up going into a hotel room together. Daniels and Kazarian trash talk AJ. AJ goes after the tag champions but eventually leaves the ring.

Gail Kim defeated Velvet Sky and Brooke Tessmacher when she stole a pin from Velvet Sky to retain the Knockouts Title.

Jeff Hardy defeated Mr. Anderson to advance to next week’s 4-Way.

Kurt Angle defeated Samoa Joe to advance to the 4-Way by reversing the Musclebuster into a rollup. Bobby Roode (who was on commentary) had a few words with Angle after the match. Eventually Hardy came to ringside followed by Bully Ray and AJ Styles on the stage. Roode had a staredown with his four potential challengers.

Triple H is walking in the back and he sees John Laurinaitis. John stops Hunter and he tells Hunter that two weeks ago, he never knew that Brock was going to attack Hunter. John knew that Hunter wanted to stand up to Brock so that is why he left the ring. It hurt him to watch Brock beat Hunter up and break his arm. John says that Hunter has his support and sympathy.
Hunter says nothing and then John asks.

Hunter says that what he will say, he will say in front of the world (not like there is a camera there). He wishes Laurinaitis luck with John Cena on Sunday.

We are live from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and your announcers are Michael ‘Crosby’ Cole and Jerry ‘8:30 on Fridays? Really?’ Lawler.

Triple H makes his way to the ring. We see what happened two weeks ago with Brock and Triple H.

Hunter says everyone wants to know his thoughts on Brock Lesnar. He says that he has been telling everybody the same thing. It isn’t the physical that is bothering him. He is offended by Brock Lesnar and what he said about ‘bringing legitimacy’ back to the WWE. The day before he came back here, he was in a ring in front of 78,000 people in front of the most watched Wrestlemania going toe to toe with the Undertaker. All he was thinking was ‘I hope someone can come along to make this legitimate’. His arrogance offends him Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Randy Savage, and many more.

Hunter says that it offends him as a fan. He started out as a kid and he will always be a part of this WWE Universe. As a member of this universe, Brock offends him.

Hunter says that he is big enough to admit that he was slightly embarrassed. He was embarrassed because he bought into Brock Lesnar’s crap and hype. The same crap and hype he bought into in 2002 when met this incredibly talented, simpleton farmer from Minneapolis. Hunter told Brock that he would be the Next Big Thing. He shot to the top of the WWE where we knew he would be.

When Brock got challenged for the first time to find that little extra and fight, Brock quit. When it wasn’t so easy, Brock quit and went to the UFC. He took his talent and shot to the top of the UFC. When he got there, someone kicked his ass a little bit and when he tried to fight and wasn’t so easy, Brock quit.

Brock decided to come back to the WWE and he looked at John Cena and the ground is fertile to take care of him. Brock stepped in the ring with John Cena and gave every bit of that ass kicker but John never quit. John did what Brock never did and John looked inside and he fought and beat Brock Lesnar. Then Lesnar came out the next night, making ridiculous contractual demands only to be told no.

When he was told no, Brock did what Brock always did. Brock Lesnar quit. The fact is...

Brock’s music plays and out comes Paul Heyman and he is accompanied by a man with an envelope.

Paul says that he gets it and understands. It is the big spin and damage control. It is what every promoter has said when they lose their biggest star. Triple H lost his biggest star and now he thinks he is a businessman. Paul says that this is an open and shut case. His contract entered into a binding oral agreement with Hunter’s employee, John Laurinaitis. However, Hunter illegally ripped up that contract. Paul says that it is breach of contract.

Paul says that you bring a fighter into an entertainment company and you hate it when he wants to fight. Paul says that Hunter doesn’t get the importance of the situation, but he does get this.

Paul tells Hunter to consider himself served. Paul says that Brock is suing him for the millions of dollars that WWE owes him. Paul says that Brock is disappointed with what happened on a professional level, but he expected more from Triple H. Paul says that Brock got a corporate sycophant who has not lived up to the expectations. Paul tells Hunter that he will write a check to Brock Lesnar for millions of dollars with his right hand.

Hunter knocks the mic out of Paul’s hand and grabs him by the face.

Hunter backs away and he tells Paul to tell Brock that he is going to get everything that he deserves.

Paul tells Hunter that he screwed up again. Not only is there a breach of contract waiting for him, he is going to be sued for assault and battery. Paul tells Hunter he will see him in court.

Michael and Jerry talk about Paul Heyman’s maneuvering.

We see footage from last week when John Laurinaitis confronted Big Show in the back.

Winner: Kane

After the match, Laurinaitis wants Show to get up and talk to him like a man. John wants Show to look into his eyes. He wants to know if it was smart of Show to do what he did to his leader. John demands an apology right now and it better be good or he will be fired.

Show gets a mic and he thinks about it. Show tells Johnny that he has been thinking long and hard about what he was going to say to him. Show tells John that when he broke into WCW he was 23 years old. For the past 18 years, he has seen it all. He even got his Wrestlemania Moment. There is a part of him who can walk away with his head held high with no regrets. The truth is that he loves what he does. He loves waking up every day to perform for the fans. It is not just about the matches. It is about coming down the aisle and seeing the looks on the kid’s faces. It is the bonds he has made with the people in the back.

Show tells Johnny not to erase 18 years of his life for something petty. He tells John to fine him or bar him from having a title match again, that is okay too. If him imitating John’s voice offended John, Show says that he is sorry. If there is an ounce of decency in him, John will allow Show to continue what he loves.

We are back and in case you missed it live or on the first replay, we see Big Show being fired by John Laurinaitis.

We are told that Randy Orton and Sheamus will wrestle on Smackdown.

John Laurinaitis comes out and says what Big Show couldn’t say. He says that he is sorry that everyone thinks that John Cena is their favorite superstar. That means that they are losers because John is a loser. Cena lost to Rock at Wrestlemania. At Extreme Rules, Cena looked like a loser. Laurinaitis says that he is better than Rock and Brock and he will win on Sunday and prove everyone that they are losers.

Laurinaitis says that if there were not losers like you, there would not be winners like him.

John Cena’s music plays and he comes to the ring.

Cena gets next to Laurinaitis and he smells him and he says that desperation is suck a stinky cologne. He says that Laurinaitis looks like the Manchurian Candidate and Cena makes fun of Laurinaitis’ voice. Cena wants to know if Laurinaitis will fire him like he did to Show. He says that Laurinaitis was a scumbag before he did it and now he became the undisputed king of douchebaggery.

Cena says that Laurinaitis has the gall to call himself a winner. At Wrestlemania, he did nothing and his team won. Cena says that he will give Laurinaitis that one. Laurinaitis wanted Punk removed as WWE Champion and Punk is still WWE Champion. His crowning glory was to bring in Brock Lesnar to beat Cena at Extreme Rules. Brock lost and quit. Cena says that Laurinaitis is one for four and that makes him a loser.

Cena gets very demonstrative with his ability to say the word loser.

Cena says at Over the Limit Laurinaitis is going to be a loser because in his backstabbing rise to power, he has managed to step on everyone. He stepped on every member of the WWE Universe tonight in the name of People Power. Cena tells Laurinaitis to change it to Person Power because the only person who matters to Laurinaitis is himself. Cena wants to know how many people want to punch Laurinaitis so hard that he still thinks he is starring in Gleaming the Cube.

Cena has another question. How many people want to beat him so bad that he squeals like a baby calf.

It shows that Laurinaitis has no concept of reality. Cena says that there is no better place for a wake up call than in Pittsburgh. Cena mentions the Steel Curtain and how it is a legion of men who decimate and hurt their opponents. That is what he will do at Over the Limit.

The second thing is the Penguins. Laurinaitis says that he was going to mention the Penguins later in his promo. Cena interrupts Laurinaitis and Laurinaitis starts to laugh. Cena wants to hear what Laurinaitis was going to say about the Penguins and Laurinaitis calls them losers.

Cena responds and he says that a few Penguins are in the crowd tonight. Cena says that they will enjoy this. Cena takes a puck out of his pocket and he tells Laurinaitis to go puck himself.

Laurinaitis says that those are tough words that he is saying. He tells Cena that he is Big Johnny. He is taller than Cena and better looking.

Eve makes her way to the ring and Laurinaitis says that he can make or change matches and he can add stipulations. Eve tries to tell Laurinaitis something and Eve hands him a piece of paper. Cena takes it and he says that Laurinaitis can’t read. Cena says that it is from the WWE Board of Directors.

The match at Over the Limit will be one-on-one. There will be no special guest referee. There will be no one allowed at ringside. The only way to win is by pinfall or submission. Any superstar who interferes will be immediately terminated.

Cena says that if Laurinaitis loses the match, he will be terminated.

Cena stops his music because he is not done. He wants to hear the gigantic announcement that Michael Cole talked about.

Cena wants to know what the major announcement is. Laurinaitis slaps Cena and walks out of the ring.

We go to credits.

We went into the usual well produced opening video.

Christy Hemme looks great in a shimmering silver outfit.

TNA Tag Team champions Magnus & Samoa Joe vs. Kazarian & Christopher Daniels

The announcers noted its been an eventful few days for the challengers given the reveal of the photos of AJ Styles and Dixie Carter.
The champions worked over Magnus, scoring several near falls and coming up with ways to work him over while bending the rulebook. The crowd was nuts chanting for Joe.

They showed Joseph Park in the crowd watching. The announcers noted that Abyss had warned his brother not to get involved at the PPV but apparently he had blown that off.

Your winners and new TNA Tag Team champions, Kazarian & Daniels!

Solid back and forth tag match and a good opener. I just wish they had more time because what was good could have been great with more time for the bout, but no complaints here. The title win could set up a three way feud with all four here and the team of Styles & Angle.

The announcers welcomed everyone to the show and asked fans to send questions via TNA's Twitter to Bully Ray and Austin Aries.

TNA Knockouts champion Gail Kim vs. Brooke Tessmacher.

Tessmacher came out in an awesome red white and blue outfit. That led to Taz making an Avengers reference.

Kim nailed Brooke before the bell, ran her into the buckles and kicked the hell out of her. She drilled Brooke with a series of forearms and sent her into the ring. Tessmacher reversed a hiptoss and nailed a head scissors. She went for Kim's Eat Defeat move and Kim rolled out of the ring.

Back in the ring, Brooke ducked a move and nailed a clothesline. She hit a leaping clothesline out of the corner. Brooke went for a spear on the apron but Kim leapt up and came down across Brooke's back.

Brooke was nailed with a uppercut and clothesline for a two count. Kim sent her into the corner and splashed her horizontally in the corner. Kim stood over Brooke's throat. The crowd tried to rally Brooke, who was caught with an over the knee backbreaker. She forced Brooke into a backwards position, atttempting a submission.

Kim drilled her with a clothesline, then mocked her by rubbing her rear in Brooke's face. Tessmacher came back with a leaping forearm but was too hurt to mount a comeback. The referee began counting them down but they returned to their feet. Kim charged Brooke but was nailed with a kick. Brooke whipped Kim into the corner and grabbed her with an X-Factor.

Tessmacher went to the top and drilled her with a flying elbow for a two count. They went back and forth. Kim went for her finisher but Brooke slipped out and nailed it on Kim. Kim ended up bounced out to the floor from the force. Brooke tossed her back in but was only able to score a two count. The crowd was chanting hard for Brooke.

Brooke went for Kim but was grabbed in a double leg takedown. Kim put her feet on the ropes and scored the pin.

Your winner and still Knockouts champion, Gail Kim!

Decent match. They were over-achieving given Tessmacher's level of experience. There were a few moments where they were off by a second or two with timing but this wasn't bad at all. Tessmacher has something really unique about her and is trying really hard. She was doing all these athletic moves, like she was trying to prove she could pull it off and could handle the push. You have to respect that. Kim worked hard as well.

Jeremy Borash interviewed the new Tag Team champions. Daniels sent a message to AJ Styles - "a picture is worth a thousand words." He told Styles there was more to come and told everyone else they have the right to worship the new champions.

TNA TV champion Devon vs. Robbie E vs. Robbie T.

For simplicity sake, the challengers will be known as T and E here.

The challengers surrounded Devon. He went after them both but the numbers game was too much and they worked him over in the corner. T was whipped into Devon, but the champion ducked. T was clotheslined over the top to the floor.

Devon was left with E, who begged off. Devon worked him over with right hand after right hand in the corner. He nailed a Thesz Press and peppered E with punches. He nailed T off the apron and drilled E with a spinebuster for a two count.

T pulled Devon to the floor and clotheslined him. He tossed the champion back in but E told him to back off. E began kicking at Devon and nailing him with punches. E smashed Devon's head into the turnbuckles and kept telling T that he had Devon and to back off. The challengers drilled Devon and E covered him for a two count.

T drilled Devon with a sideslam. E came off the ropes with a fistdrop for a two count. They whipped Devon into the ropes but he kicked E off and nailed a leaping shoulderblock on T. He drilled E with one as well.

Devon nailing a charging Avalanche in the corner on E, sending him to the floor. The crowd was bigtime behind Devon. T nailed him from behind and nailed an over the shoulder running powerslam but E distracted the referee to prevent the pinfall. The challengers had words and E told T that he was in charge and would be champion. T didn't want to hear that and E attempted to calm his bodyguard down.

Devon charged from behind and knocked them into each other in the corner, then rolled up T for the pin.

Your winner and still TNA TV champion, Devon!

As good as this was going to get. Not bad.

After the match, E was screaming at Devon, unaware that T was behind him furious. He backed into T. He tried to get T to calm down and hugged him but T wanted nothing to do with him. He finally hugged E but it was obvious he wasn't a happy camper.

Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Anderson

Anderson really needs a good showing here as his work since returning has been spotty and haphazard. He did his own ring announcement. Hardy looked to be limping a bit. They shook hands before the bout.

They locked up and Anderson backed Hardy into the corner. Clean break. They locked up again and this time, Anderson grabbed a side headlock. Hardy sent him into the ropes but was shoulderblocked down. Hardy caught him with a series of hiptosses and deep armdrags. Anderson was able to reverse an armbar but Hardy fought back and controlled Anderson.

Anderson drilled Hardy in the corner. Hardy came out with headscissors out of the ring, sending Anderson to the floor. Hardy drilled him with a sliding kick. Hardy slammed Anderson into the ring steps. Mike Tenay was surprised Hardy used the steps so soon after showing respect to Anderson at the start. Hardy charged and leapt off the steps but Anderson moved out of the way. Hardy crashed into the guard rail. Anderson rolled Hardy back in and nailed him with a kick.

Hardy dropped down into a jawbreaker and nailed a Side Russian Legsweep. He nailed the legdrop cruncher for a two count. Hardy nailed Anderson in the corner. He went to go into the corner for a kick but was nailed as he jumped. Anderson clotheslined Hardy for a two count.

Anderson began working over Hardy's wrist. He drilled Hardy with a shoulderblock and worked over his arm. He snapped Hardy over and dropped his knees over Hardy's shoulder. Anderson worked on the arm as the crowd clapped and tried to rally Hardy.

Anderson maintained control for some time on Hardy. The crowd rallied Hardy, who tried to fight back one-armed. He finally nailed Anderson's own move, The Mic Check, but was too spent to follow up. Big "Hardy" chant.

Anderson nailed Hardy with a turnbuckle smash but Hardy fired back with several punches. Anderson cut him off but was nailed with a clothesline and several elbows. Hardy hit a flying clothesline as he rebounded off the ropes, selling the arm.

Anderson nailed Hardy with an elbow and sent him into the corner. Hardy went up for a move but there was no water in the pool. Anderson nailed Hardy with the Twist of Fate for a two count. Anderson went for a back senton splash but Hardy moved out of the way. Hardy nailed the Swanton for a two count.

They battled back and forth as they fought to return to their feet. They lobbied bombs at each other. Hardy nailed an inverted atomic drop. He went for the Cruncher but was shoved off by Anderson and rolled up for the pin. Hardy obviously kicked up at two, so we'll see if that becomes the storyline.

Your winner, Ken Anderson!

Hardy argued the call. Anderson offered his hand and Hardy finally took it. They hugged.

Easily the best Anderson match in a long time in terms of telling a story and working holds. It was good and was just getting into a really good groove when they went to the finish. Again, this may have benefited from a few more minutes but it was a good bout.

Backstage, Christy Hemm interviewed TNA X-Division champion Austin Aries. A Twitter fan asked if Aries was intimidated. Aries said that he wasn't. He said that his entire life, people tried to intimidate him but it's not in his DNA to be intimidated. He said that in recent weeks, Ray spit in his face and kicked him in the balls and tonight, he gets his respect back. He said Ray thinks bigger is better but the reality is better is better. He asked Ray how it was going to feel when this little man drops him on his big head and promised to beat Ray.

They showed the return of Abyss on Impact Wrestling from this Thursday.

In the crowd, Jeremy Borash interviewed Joseph Park. He talked about how much he's enjoyed seeing the show. Borash asked what he thought about the return of Abyss. He said he didn't see it because of what Bully Ray did to him and he was off getting composed. He said he wouldn't be shocked to see Abyss show up tonight but right now, he was looking forward to seeing Austin Aries take out Bully Ray.

Crimson came to the ring for a promo. He said that everyone knows what he is capable of and claimed to have slain the seven foot Giant, Matt Morgan, without breaking a sweat. He said that all he does is win and he's going to do the same. Crimson said that no one in the back and no one in the crowd wants to fight him. He said he told everyone that he's undefeated and issuing an open challenge.

He called in a referee and demanded that he ring the bell and count to ten. His delivery on the mic has grown in leaps and bounds with this new direction. The referee did what he asked. The referee got to eight and out came TNA Knockouts champion Eric Young and ODB.

ODB said that she's beaten bigger broads than Crimson. Young said everyone knows where she is going. He said they are married and in love. He said that his problems are ODB's problems and if he's good enough for ODB, he's good enough for her. He said he would fight him.

Crimson vs. Eric Young

Young hit the ring and locked up with the befuddled referee. Young did a handstand on the top then caught Crimson with a twisting head scissors, sending him to the floor. When Crimson returned, Young worked him over with a series of rights., Young whipped him into the corner but Crimson grabbed him and manhandled Youing over the ropes the floor. Young landed hard.

Crimson worked over Young on the floor. ODB tried to stop him and he teased going after her but tossed Young back into the ring, scoring a two count. Crimson locked him in a cravate. ODB got into the ring and faced off with him. She pushed him and Crimson shoved her down. He began talking trash on her, allowing Young to recover and go nuts with offense.

Young went to the top rope and drilled Crimson with an elbow. He checked on ODB, allowing Crimson to nail him from behind and hit the Red Sky for the pin.

Your winner, Crimson!

The first "eh" segment of the night. Everyone worked hard but the placement and segment fell out of place. I think the company would have been better giving Hardy vs. Anderson and the Tag bout some more time. More was absolutely less here. The one upside is that Crimson's demeanour as a heel continues to grow and Young and ODB are obviously really over.

Jeremy Borash interviewed Bully Ray. A Twitter reader asked Ray how he can compete with a younger, faster Ray. He said he doesn't do Twitter and said he's old school at www.myspace.com/calvezilla. He said he's a 20 year veteran of every kind of war you can think of and said Aries isn't man enough or big enough to nail that brainbuster. He promised to break Aries heart, no matter how big it is. Good promo.

TNA X-Division champion Austin Aries vs. Bully Ray

Ray's entrance was great, just walking down to the ring like this pissed off heel with no redeeming qualities. His walk is right out of the best 80s heels. They showed Joseph Park in the crowd watching.

They went nose to nose at the bell. Ray began telling Aries that he can't beat him and he's never been in the ring with anyone as big or bad as him. Aries backed off and sat on the top turnbuckle waiting for him to stop. Aries then walked up to him and challenged him to fight, saying he wasn't scared and he was ready. Nice old school face off.

They went to lock up and of course, Ray then pulled himself through the ropes to break it up before it started. He tried that again but Aries grabbed the ropes and slammed them upwards into the nether-regions. Aries worked over Ray but was cut off and slammed hard.

Ray spit in Aries' face but Aries responded with a slap to the face. He worked over Ray in the corner with shots to the ears and mid-section. Aries went for a single leg takedown and bit Ray on the calve. He snapped Ray's throat over the top. He went to the top but Ray ran and kicked him backwards off the top and Aries took this crazy backwards bump off the top into the railing. He looked to have hit his head or just barely missed the rail. It was a crazy bump.

When Aries returned to the ring you could see this nasty dark red bruises on his back as well as several cuts with blood running down his back. That was easily the scariest bump of the night so far, planned or otherwise.

Aries, who looked beat up bad, was worked over by Bully. Ray began drilling Aries over the back. Ray teased throwing him over the top but instead slammed him down. Aries began daring him to fight back. Aries went for a punch but was caught with a bear hug. Aries nailed him several times in the ear to break it but was caught and backdropped hard to the mat.

Ray stalked the ring, the measured and drilled Aries with a chop. Aries refused to back down and pulled himself up but was clotheslined down. Aries drilled Ray and fired up with several shots but was chopped down again. Ray screamed at him to stay down. Aries refused and drilled Ray hard. Ray told him he was crazy and a dead man. He teased another chop but raked Aries' face instead.

Ray was nailed with a shoulderblock by Aries, followed by a series of elbows. He ran Ray's face across the top rope, then ran at him with a charging clothesline. Ray cut him off with a lariat and nailed a big sitdown slam for a two count. Ray went for a powerbomb but Aries slipped out and landed on his feet. He chopped away with several kicks but was blasted with a Cutter for a two count. The story here is that Aries has a ton of heart and refuses to stand down to anyone. Ray was mad about him kicking out.

Ray and Joseph Park had words. Ray pulled him into the ringside area and shoved him down. He went to grab a chair but Aries dove onto him. He tossed Ray back in and nailed a top rope missile dropkick. He nailed a dropkick in the corner and killed Ray with a brainbuster for a close near fall. Great false finish.

Ray kicked him and went for a running powerbomb. Aries slipped out and was supposed to go for a Facebuster but didn't grab Ray, who took the face-first bump. Aries locked on the Last Chancery submission and Ray tapped out.

Your winner, Austin Aries!

With the exception of the timing issue at the end, a perfect story and a great match. This was about making Aries and Ray, who is the best heel in the company (period), did a hell of a job making him. Aries showed a lot of heart and that frightening bump to the outside only served to enhance the story. Ray and Aries did a hell of a job. Absolutely great stuff from bell to bell.

They showed clips of the AJ Styles-Dixie Carter photos being revealed on Thursday.
Jeremy Borash interviewed AJ Styles. Styles said it's not the first time he's wrestled Kurt Angle. He said that Angle is the best in the world and if he's not focused, he knows he doesn't have a chance. He said that he's not here to talk about photos, Kaz, Daniels or Dixie, he's here to wrestle.

AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle

They locked up and Styles went for the leg. They had a scrambling attempt to gain advantage over the other but in the end, they faced off. Angle grabbed a double leg takedown and rode Styles to the mat. Styles backed off to the outside then returned to the ring. Angle dared him to grab his leg. Styles teased it then kicked Angle in the face when Angle ducked down to avoid the takedown.

Styles went for a waistlock but Angle nailed a rear elbow and locked him in a bearhug. Styles broke out and nailed a sunset flip into a Styles Clash attempt. Angle grabbed for an anklelock. Style realized it and let the move go and they faced off. The crowd started with some dueling chants.

They locked up again and Angle grabbed a side headlock. Styles backed him into the ropes and sent him off but Angle shoulderblocked him down and went back to the headlock. The crowd rallied Styles. Styles fought his way to his feet but was caught and taken down again in the headlock.

Styles nailed a dropkick after sending Angle into the ropes. Styles came off the ropes with a leaping kneedrop to the head. Styles went for the Styles Clash but instead nailed a powerbomb for a two count.

Styles locked in a rear chinlock, Angle fought his way out but Styles nailed him and sent Angle to the floor. He jumped down at Angle but Angle grabbed him for a back suplex. Styles landed on his feet and nailed a big right hand. Back in the ring, Styles missed a leap at Angle in the corner and was caught and sent overhead with a belly to bell suplex.

Angle began stomping the hell out of Styles. He choked Styles against the ropes. Styles fought back but was snapmared over and locked in a waistlock on the mat. Angle squeezed and worked over Styles on the mat. Styles fought his way to his feet but was caught with a tilowhirl backbreaker over the knee. He went back to Styles' mid-section, now locking Styles up in bodyscissors.

Angle backdropped Styles and locked in a side chinlock. Styles fought his way out and scored several near falls. He went for the Styles Clash but Angle grabbed the legs and backdropped him. He charged Styles, who ducked and Angle went to the floor. Styles nailed a springboard forearm from the top rope to the floor. The cameras caught this from underneath so it looked especially awesome.

Back in the ring, Styles was nailed while on the top. Angle went for a superplex but was shoved off. Angle jumped back up and caught him with a tossing superplex for a two count. Angle went for a German suplex but Styles slipped out and nailed the Pele Kick and the Styles Clash for a two count.

Angle caught Styles with a big reverse suplex for a two count. He worked over Styles, who grabbed the ropes to break up a suplex attempt. Styles went after Angle but was caught with an Olympic Slam for a two count. Angle pulled Styles off the mat and teased doing the Styles Clash. Styles backdropped him over. Angle grabbed his leg for the anklelock. Styles rolled through and leapt up for a move but was caught and nailed with the Styles Clash for a near fall.

Angle went to the top for the moonsault and like always, he missed it. Styles nailed a springboard flip into a back splash senton, although he may have been going for a legdrop. Styles climbed to the top but out came Kazarian and Daniels. Styles went after Kazarian, who the referee pulled away. Daniels nailed Styles' legs. Styles was hit with the Angleslam for a two count. Angle locked in an anklelock and dropped down, trapping Styles, who tapped.

Your winner, Kurt Angle!

Daniels and Kazarian attacked Styles and put the boots to him. Angle watched, then attacked Daniels and Kazarian, running them off. He offered Styles his hand and helped him up. They hugged and raised each other's arms. That could be a hell of a dream tag team.

The match itself was good and very physical with a really nice story told in the ring. I wouldn't say it was the best match they've ever had (Hard Justice in Trenton, NJ still stands out to me in that regard) but this was really awesome with a physical story told and a slow but great build in the ring. There were some really nice moments and near falls. I usually hate interference but it was a must here in order to tell the story they wanted and the Angle turn (although that's been coming for a while in terms of his attitude change) and setting the stage for the future. Angle and Styles as a team could be really cool and a way for Angle to not tax his body as much.

They showed a Top Ten TNA Moment to build to Slammiversary, which was Angle vs. Anderson in a Cage at Lockdown. Mike Tenay and Taz gave the Slammiversary PPV a hard sell.

They showed a Top Ten TNA Moment to build to Slammiversary, which was Angle vs. Anderson in a Cage at Lockdown. Mike Tenay and Taz gave the Slammiversary PPV a hard sell.

TNA champion Bobby Roode was interviewed by Jeremy Borash. He said he was going to be the longest reigning TNA champion of all time in ten days and there was nothing anyone can do about it. He claimed the ladder match was Hulk Hogan trying to stack the deck and hurt him.

TNA Championship Ladder Match
Bobby Roode vs. Rob Van Dam

RVD controlled Roode early and went for a ladder under the ring. Roode attacked him from behind on the floor, slamming him into the guard rail. He went to run RVD into the ringpost but RVD blocked it and kicked Roode in the gut.

RVD lifted and dropped Roode over the railing, then hit the corkscrew legdrop. Fans chanted "ECW" at that. RVD nailed a shoulderblock on Roode but Roode caught him with a kick into the ropes, nutshooting RVD as he returned.

Roode went for the ladder but RVD dropkicked it into him as Roode placed it on the apron. RVD nailed a forward flip over the top to the floor. Van Dam set up the ladder in the center of the ring but Roode grabbed him and ran RVD into it.

They went back and forth. The ladder was placed across the ropes in one of the corners. RVD went for a move but was caught, positioned under the ladder and catapulted into the ladder. RVD's head stuck in the ladder.

Roode worked over RVD and attempted a suplex on the ladder. RVD reverses it and suplexes the champion on it. Van Dam hits an Asai Moonsault off the ropes onto Roode, who was out on the ladder. Nice spot.

Van Dam tried set the ladder up in the corner but was cut off by Roode. Roode sent him into the corner but was caught with the Ryder Kick off the ropes. Van Dam used his leg strength to flip Roode backwards into the ladder.

Van Dam slammed a ladder over Roode in the corner, trapping him in the corner. He nailed a skateboarding dropkick with a chair into the ladder and Roode. This is the most motivated RVD has looked in a LOOOOONG TIME.

Van Dam pulled another ladder from under the ring. He began climbing up towards the TNA title but Roode caught up to him and nailed him. RVD's face was raked and he dropped down. He saw Roode trying to grab the belt and shoulderblocked the ladder, tipping it and Roode over. The ladder almost nailed Roode in the head and the announcers acted like it had.

Roode immediately grabbed RVD and drilled him with a hard clothesline. Roode set up a ladder and nailed RVD with a spinebuster on it, with RVD taking the full brunt of the shot on the steel. That looked nasty.

RVD came back to monkey flip Roode onto a ladder, then nailed Rolling Thunder. You could hear an 'ECW" chant. They showed a shot of RVD's elbow bleeding and swelling up. That isn't good!

RVD tried to set up a ladder to climb but instead slammed it down and slammed Roode on it. RVD went to the top for the Five Star Frog Splash but Roode rolled out of the way. The pain of hitting the ladder sent RVD out of the ring to the floor holding his mid-section.

RVD pulled himself up to the ropes just in time for Roode to run the ladder into his chest like a battering ram. Roode set the ladder up and began ascending to the top. He made to the top as RVD got to the top rope. RVD leapt from the top to the ladder but when he hit the ladder, it seemed to buckle a little under his weight and RVD's foot slipped into one of the rungs as his other leg slipped off the ladder near the hinges. The ladder tilted and Roode dropped off. RVD's leg twisted in this sick way that was obviously not planned and he immediately grabbed at it.

Roode climbed to the top. Van Dam followed and Roode kicked him backwards off the ladder. RVD nailed the back of his head hit a chair that was in the ring. RVD kicked at the ladder but Roode pulled the belt down.

Your winner and still TNA champion, Bobby Roode!

RVD was pissed after, slamming ladders. TNA staffers came to check on him but RVD blew them off and rolled out of the ring. He walked on the floor, putting some weight on the leg. If he wasn't seriously hurt and didn't tear anything, it's a miracle because that was sick looking.

The PPV went off the air with Roode smiling and holding his belt up, once again pulling it out.

Really good physical spectacle in the main event. As I wrote, it was the most motivated RVD has looked in a long time and the closest he's done to that ECW balls to the walls style in a crazy environment with weapons that I can recall off the top of my head. Roode and RVD both took a lot of punishment and worked hard. The moments that were really scary in terms of potential injury and physicality only served to make the body of the match better.

Easily the best TNA PPV from top to bottom in recent memory.
